Weekend Update

On Saturday morning I got up early. Why would I do such a thing you ask? What would get me out of bed early on a Saturday??? Few things, my friends, very few things.
This particular time it was because I was heading to the Woodburn Outlet Malls to meet my bloggy friend Julie in person! So fun!! I met Julie through this blog. When I saw Julie's comment on Kelly's original post about setting up the prayer blog - where she wrote about herself and her journey, I seriously thought to myself "did I just write that?!". We are the same age, live in the same state, been married the same length of time, and have a very similar fertility journey thus far. I was so shocked by the similarities that I clicked on her blog and wrote her a comment. She emailed me back, and our friendship officially began! =-).
We had been emailing back and forth for a bit when she mentioned she was going to be in Woodburn on Saturday the 6th, and I just happened to be passing through Woodburn on the 6th...
Coincidence? I think not.
God-incidence? I think so!!
When we saw each other we hugged like old friends and then spent the next 2+ hours talking like crazy. Lucky for me, she still likes me even though when I am excited I tend to talk really really fast and interrupt a lot...and I was excited to be meeting her =-). It was so great to meet in person and I look forward to getting together again soon!

After breakfast with Julie, I headed down to Salem to hang out with my littlest sister Emily. We had sooo much fun. We started the day with some Starbucks Carmel Apple Spice (which we have decided is just so heavenly that Jesus meets you there...hahaha!) and then went to get pedicures. That may sound silly as it is December, but Emily had never had one before, and I am heading to the beach in 4 (FOUR!!!) days and girlfriend was in serious need of some help when it came to the feet.
Here is Emily learning the joys of the pedicure:And me... always enjoy a good pampering =-)Then we went to Target to aimlessly wander the aisles. Come on, you know you do it too. Let's face it, next to Disneyland, Target is the happiest place on earth!
While we were there, we played a little dress up...

... and then took a time machine to the set of Mary Poppins...

... and to 1987...

That is seriously a jacket -size large- currently residing in the junior's section at Target. Really?!?

After dropping Emily off, I headed over to Monmouth to hang out with my buddy Amy . This girl has been an angel in my life. She and David went to high school together, and we all met/reconnected at a wedding 4 years ago. Since then, she has become so important in my life! Amy and her husband struggled with infertility, and now have 3 amazing, beautiful children. Before entering bloggerland, Amy was one of the few people in my life who had ever struggled and waited to be a mommy. She has talked countless hours with me, hugged me, cried with me, and most of all - she has hoped and prayed for me. I am SO grateful God brought her into my life!! I love her to pizzas! (That will only be funny to her =-) ).
I always love visiting Amy, and this time was especially fun because we got to have one of our jamana parties. (Amy's sweet little daughter dubbed her pajamas, jamanas, and so began our tradition of jamana parties.) Jamana parties usually entail hot chocolate, late nights, and lots and lots of yummy treats.

Yes we have matching jamana pants.
Yes we are in are late 20's.
Try not to judge us.

Hope you all had as great a weekend as I did!!

Such a cute post....and never fear, my sister and I have the same PJ's...we have done that for years on Christmas Eve :)

On another note, I am mailing your cards today...sorry for the delay. GREAT choice...those were one of my favorites. And of course, thanks so much for helping with our IVF fund :)

Many blessings to you!

What a full day! But it sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm so jealous that you're going to the beach this week. We once went down to West Palm Beach in February (from Kansas, no less) and it was the best vacation ever. It was great to have a break from all of the gray of winter.
