About our bedtime: our babies get their last bottle at 6:30pm. Sam almost always konks out right at the end and is dead to the world (so asleep at 6:45) Anna gets her bottle and usually gets a bedtime story before we say her prayers (what we'd like to do with both of them) and we put her down awake (just her style- our babies have totally different sleep M.O.s) so she's asleep by 7 pm. We wake them at 6:30 am because of work, so that's what we shoot for. The last bottle at 6:30 pm also works well with our 4 hour feeding schedule.
In my experience, no matter what time we put them down, they wake at the same time the next day. So if we have an unusually later night (because of atypical plans or babies that don't want to go to sleep on time), they still wake around 6:30 am if we don't wake them. When we "let" them sleep in on the weekends, they typically wake on their own at around 6:45 am.
We used to have 5 am wake ups, but we worked really hard to send the message that it wasn't time to get up. This was awhile ago, but we would hold them in our dark living room without talking to them until atleast 6 am (if they were crying) or leave them be in their cribs if they were just talking or fussing. I think they eventually learned that 6:30 am was their waketime for the day.
Hey, thanks for the advice. We've tried the Q-tip thing (among many other things, all of the things you've mentioned) a number of times actually. You're right, it sounds so weird but I was desperate! It didn't really seem to work for him, unfortunately:(
And that last piece of advice... lol:) Yes, we do use that particular form of "assistance", but it doesn't take away all the pain. It just makes the pain easier to actually inflict. lol!!
Hmmm...where to begin?? I have been married for 10 years to a wonderful man, and after more than 2 1/2 years of waiting, hoping and praying, we were blessed with the most beautiful twins! Lucas and Abigail were born in March of 2010 at 38 weeks. God has been so gracious to us. We also have 2 adorable cats who tolerate us because we continue to feed them. I love Jesus, my family, my friends, a good cup of coffee, the beach, sleeping in, sunshine and witty banter. I choose to describe myself as "passionate" about most things. I can turn almost any moment into a kleenex moment, but that's ok... because I would rather feel too much than not enough, ya know?

Hope that helps!
