Hi Kendra,

I have been remiss in reading your blog...a few posts back you were asking folks to share about what they say to the kids RE Santa, etc.

We told the kids that Santa was a really fun pretend. People who don't know Jesus just have Santa, et. al. but we believe in and love Jesus and Christmas is a celebration of His coming to be with us. And, in the tradition of giving birthday gifts, we give gifts to each other.

Another way to help focus on Christ is to have an advent calendar. I also saw on a blog a family gave baked things each day of advent. You want to give the gift the recipient wants--Jesus said, "Inasmuch as you have done it to the least of these, you have done it to me." Luke and Abby are a bit young to really the get the meaning, so looking ahead... Jesus told us in the scripture what He wants--for us to do things for the least of these!
