Ode to Friends

Two fold.

First, I went to my weekly Women's Bible study on Wednesday night, and I am just LOVING it!!

The study is Beth Moore's Esther: It's tough being a woman. Beth was talking about one of the many reasons its tough being a woman...other women. She was talking about how hard we can be on each other, how insecure other women can make us feel, etc. She suggested that women notice more about each other than any man ever could, and I would tend to agree. Why do we constantly size ourselves up to other women? Beth posed this theory "Every rivalry stems from an insecurity". Ohhhh...true.

As she was listing off things that make the relationships with other women in our lives difficult, a smile crept across my face as I thought of blogging. It has become such a blessing to me. Who would have thought that something so simple as online journaling could effect my life so deeply...I can come here and get out my thoughts on anything ranging from my salvation to my cellulite, and I receive nothing but love and support from so many people. Through blogging I have met some of the neatest, most faithful, loving, friendly, welcoming, God fearing women, and I am so blessed to have met you all. I can be my most vulnerable self here, and I have never felt judged or looked down upon. I have felt loved, supported, lifted up when I felt down, and rejoiced with when I am rejoicing.

Thank you.

My second thought on Friends has to do with a different set of Friends altogether...although these people are also very dear to my heart...

Pretty much anytime me and my dear bloggy friend Heather have any form of communication, whether it be a blog comment or an email, it is ended with some quote from a "Friends" episode. It cracks me up EVERY TIME.

So it's got me thinking about my two all time most favorite episodes...

The first is in Season 3. The One Were No One Is Ready.

HILARIOUS.

Joey: "I'm Chander, could I be wearing any more clothes??"

Monica: "I'm Breezy!!"

The second is in Season 4: The One With Phoebe's Uterus... although it is affectionately known in my house as "The Game One"

HIL-ARIOUS.

Rachel: "Space Cowboy!!"

Ross: "Ew! No her ear!!"

Chandler: "Actually, it's Miss Chanandler Bong"

So now I am curious, what's your favorite Friends episode??

Okay, seriously, the One Where Nobody is Ready is one of the funniest things ever on television. EVER. That, and the Thanksgiving one where they play football (and isn't that when someone ends up wearing a turkey) is I-Love-Lucy kind of classic comedy.

It is remarkable to me how much Friends has shaped our generation - in the way we talk and the kinds of jokes people make. I notice it all the time.

Oh, I am cracking up SO HARD over here!!! I love the two episodes you mentioned so much!!! When Phoebe sings "Are you in there little fetus??" hanging upside down! and then in the One where No One is Ready when Phoebe puts that ribbon on and says "All right, fine....I'll be political!" and then Rachel with her "I'm just going to catch up on my correspondance!"
Another episode that I LOVE is the one with Rachel's baby shower where the guys play "Bamboozle!" "I don't think the contestants are supposed to talk to each other!!" "This is the BEST GAME EVER!!!"
This post made my day, sweet friend! (just like you always do!)
Have a happy weekend!

I am a total freinds junkie- I own every season and have watched them all numerous times! I have so many favorites, but the one that absolutely cracks me up is when Ross is trying to get the couch up the stairs and yells "PIVOT", like, 16 times. I don't know why, but I just think it's SO funny!

I feel the same way about blogging. Who would have ever known I would love it so much??

We LOVE the game one and "we took our apartment BACK". We also like the unagi one where Ross screams like a girl! There are too many funny ones to choose from!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Okay, I'm sorry...I know I already commented...but I just can't resist a few more...
(When Joey puts Chandler in the box) "He's doing some thinking." "Joey had his reasons....they were three fold!"
(When Phoebe believes her mom is reincarnated in a cat) "Maybe you (Ross) should apologize to her mom." "Um...Mrs. Buffay...I am sorry!!"
Oh. MY!!!! Love this show SOOO much! I'm off to watch some!!! (and pray for you!)

Oh, and the one where they are in the apartment across the street trying to shield Ross from seeing Monica & Chandler. When Phoebe and Racel jump up and down and then Ross joins in- classic! HA!

Hmm, I have to agree with Heather that the one with Rachel's Baby Shower and the guys play Bamboozled is one of my favorites. As well as when they play the trivia game for the girls apartment. Besides being hillarious, it should just how well the friends really knew each other.

Our ladies at church are also doing the Esther study. Isn't it great? (I should be finishing homework right now) ;)

I love blogging too. I never really had many hobbies and blogging has definitely become a hobby & I feel the same way you do about everyone being so encouraging and sweet. I've made so many great friends from all over the country and beyond.

"Friends" is my all time favorite show. It's so hard to think of just one favorite episode. Some people say I remind them of Phoebe so I think one of my favorites was when she was jogging with Rachel or learning to ride a bike. LOL!

Nice to meet you.
I came here from Mimi's blog.
She's a sweetheart!
