Um, no.

No. We are not doing this.

My children got up at 5:09am on Saturday. In turn, they went to bed before 6pm on Saturday evening.

They woke up at 5:20am yesterday, which was to be expected after such an early bedtime.

But last night, bedtime was 7:00pm, so there is no reason, I repeat - NO REASON - for us to be starting our day today at 5:24am.

Not. happening.

They've been diapered, binkied, lovied and rocked. And they are back in their cribs protesting.

I am in the living room, coffee percolating in the kitchen, in protest as well. We are not going back to before-6am-wake-ups here. Nope. Not gonna do it.

We, too, were up way too early today. Seth is still snoozing, but Miss E has been going strong since about 445.....eek!

I am going through the SAME thing with my 14 1/2 mo. old. Somehow we went from 7-7:30ish to a 5:45 wakeup. Not quite as bad as yours but still before 6 is always bad. He's down to 1 nap a day so waking up that early just doesn't work for anyone. I'm not doing it either. I can usually squeeze another 20 minutes out of him after diapering, giving the binkie back (usually thrown on the floor in protest), and rubbing the back. The latest I can get from him is 6:20. I'm not sure what changed. I've even tried wearing him out too, but still 6:15 it is. Hopefully it's a phase ?! Please oh please be a phase!

That is exactly what we do. I don't care if he's awake for 30-60 minutes at 5 or 6 am. It's not time for him to be awake, so he's not getting up that early.

Maybe they are hungry that early? Noah still nurses once overnight, and that stretches his sleep out so that he makes it to the 11 or 11.5 hour mark. And the nursing doesn't put him back to sleep most times. 9 times out of 10 he is still awake when I put him back in his crib, but he has a full tummy and he goes back to sleep on his own. If he didn't get something to eat he would for sure wake up waaay earlier.

I know they're weaned, it's just a thought. Maybe a sippy cup of milk? I'm sure you don't want to go backwards in this area. Its just the only thing I can think of that might explain the early wake ups.

My girls go through phases like this every once in awhile. We'll be doing really well, getting up around 7, then suddenly, they are up on or before 6---ugh! It usually lasts about a week for us.

What we did was pick a time that they HAD to stay in their cribs till (unless hard crying that indicates some kind of a problem--you know those cries). For us, the time is 6:15. If the girls are up before 6:15, they hang out in there until 6:15. They usually jabber away--they know how to get the party started really early, sometimes. :)

Praying this "season" passes quickly.

BOO! I am SO not a morning person!

I am with you on that! My 1 year old gets up at 6:15 consistently (which is ok during the week since we have work and all) but if she's up before then, we are as still and quiet as possible, its like "lalalala I can't hear you!" but luckily, most times, she soothes back down! Yesterday she and my 3 year old were up by 6:15 and it was AWFUL for mommy!

Sam was awake at 5:15 am (!) this morning, and I listened to him fuss for 30 min, then I went in, and held him and he did actually fall back asleep until 7:30.

They lulled me into a false sense of security by sleeping in until 9 am yesterday and 10 am Friday! (With a typical bedtime) Before that their latest was 8:30 am. Just goes to show you can never count on any sort of morning wakings to continue as status quo for any length of time! I hope your plan of action worked and sent them the message! Good luck tomorrow!

Brody went through a phase like that! I just let him play in his crib until it's time to get up!

Me and several of my friends are going through the same things with our kids. So weird (and aggravating!!). You are lucky yours can't get out of bed yet!! Ella comes in my room and says "Mommy, the sun is up!" Sheesh!
