While I rarely feel in any position to give advice on parenting, I have come across a few things lately that have been making my life a little easier. And anytime I find something that helps our family out as much as these 3 things have, I figure I should pass them along to you and yours!
1. Bag Balm
I don't know how your kids are, but when ours get a diaper rash, it goes from nothing to OHMYGOSH THAT'S SOOOOO RED in no time at all. Seriously. Especially Abbey. We'll notice she's a little red - perhaps the beginning of a diaper rash- at one change, and then the very next diaper change she'll have a terrible rash! Often the rashes get so bad, they'll even bleed a little bit. And we've tried EVERYTHING.
And then, we found Bag Balm.
It's amazing. It treats any diaper rash seemingly in an instant. We put it on our kiddo's at night time, even if they don't have a rash, just to create a protective barrier. We haven't had a rash since. It's amazing I tell ya.
These are SO cool. I ordered an entire package of them. They're temporary tattoo's to fill in and put on your kids before heading out on an adventure =-). You apply them to your child's arm, with your (the parents) name and cell phone number on them. You can order them pre-written or with the accompanying pen. They are smear proof and non-toxic (unlike a sharpie would be). These are perfect for when your child is too young to memorize your phone number. You just put these on, and explain "if you lose Momma or Daddy, show this to someone and they will help you find us again!". Genius.
We just found this stuff this weekend, and it's safe to say we are in LOVE!!!
First of all, it's all natural (can I get a hallelujah?!) and sugar free (and an AMEN?!). Our kids are pretty much over their colds, but Abbey seems to be having some drainage when she lays down for naps or bedtime. She coughs and coughs and coughs. She has a hard time falling asleep, and we feel just miserable for her. Friday night she coughed so hard, she threw up. My sweet baby. So I searched the Target medicine aisle, desperate for something to help bring relief...and wa-lah! We tried it Saturday before nap, and she didn't cough ONCE when we laid her down. Same with bedtime last night, and nap time this afternoon. It's amazing!
That's all the helpful hints from around our house lately - any of you wanna share some?

Glad the kids are doing better.

Where did you find the Bag Balm?--Lisa
Lisa- I found it at Fred Meyers... a local chain around here. It went 2 or 3 times before I found it (because several moms swore to me they carried it) and finally asked - it was over near lip balm products!
Hi Kendra!
Great tips/products you shared!
You asked if we had anything we want to share... and since Jeven is now 14, I don't have any baby prodcuts to share. BUT, I found a prodcut I've used for YEARS and it's never not worked. It's a stain remover called Spot Shot. I buy the spray, not the foam. I'm sure the foam works too, I've just never used it. Anyhow it works like magic--no kidding! I've used it on carpet, laundry, etc. I always make sure to keep a can in the house at all times.
Hope your week is off to a great start! :)
Hi Kendra,
I have been reading your blog for a while, but haven't ever commented (I don't think). Your children are adorable. We use bag balm on our son (he is 14 months old) because my mom used it on my sister and I when we were young (I am 30!) I agree that it is the only thing that works (better than prescription stuff). I have found it at CVS and Walgreens as well. And the safety tat is a great idea, especially for places like Disneyland, etc.
