It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's officially time to deck our halls!!
Our new Nativity scene from Walmart. I got it for $18!! I love it! Each piece as a bible verse written on it.Ok so this may look silly to some of you, but David and I have a tradition. Instead of killing a perfectly good tree, just to have on display in our home for a few weeks, every year since we have been married we decorate this house tree.
Yes I do realize that when we have children we will need to get a real Christmas tree, not just because they will like it, but because I want to do my best to decrease the number of reasons the Hoffman children will be made fun of because of their parents =-).
I came downstairs Sunday morning before church and saw David had put the lights and ornaments on the tree, and hung our stockings, to surprise me!! It made my day!!!
I wrapped a few presents too. I love wrapping gifts. I know that Christmas is so not all about presents, but I do genuinely enjoy picking out gifts for people I love, and then wrapping them up all pretty!!
So that's all we have done so far...what about you guys? Anyone else started decorating yet???

Hey girl! I am trying to catch up on your blog before heading to bed. I'm sorry I am behind on reading/commenting. Anyway, I love your little tree! So cute! I do not have one bit of Christmas decor up yet. In fact, I don't even have my fall decor taken down yet. I am dying to get our tree put up, and I am hoping to be able to tomorrow night. If not then, I don't know when it will happen.

Oh, and the cell phone story was so funny! I'm sorry you had to go through all that mess, but I'm glad you found it!

Hope you have a great week. Praying for you!

Love the nativity scene and tree! How sweet of your husband to put it up. And I am so with you on wrapping gifts!

We had several years that we didn't get a real tree, and still decorated the house. The years that we traveled for Christmas (when we lived away from our families, before we had children) it just seemed silly to go to the expense (and to kill the tree) when we wouldn't even be there on Christmas day.

We decorated Sunday, too. I love Christmas.

You guys are too cute! I did do a little decorating yesterday when I got home from work...I was working so hard I was sweating and it was about 40 degrees outside!!! This Christmas decorating is a WORK OUT!!!

I've got everything decorated, but will you please come over and wrap my gifts? I enjoy buying everyone gifts, but for some reason, I do not enjoy wrapping at all! Cute tree :)

Wrapping gifts is part of my favorite things about the Christmas holiday. I would so much rather give gifts and watch other people open them then to get them. I love shopping and picking out things for others. This year my brother and future sister-in-law have bought a house and will close on it right before Christmas so it has been so much fun getting them things for their house.

I think your tree is AWESOME! And I'm afraid I have to say that I have done NOTHING for Christmas, nor have I begun to plan (other than send out invites for) Seth's first birthday party next Saturday. Eek! Get on the ball, girlie! Maybe I need a media fast, too, to get some stuff done!

I think your tree is perfect. And very eco green too!!! And it's something special just for you and David. That's really cool.

No decorating here yet. Still trying just to figure out how to keep Cadence out of the stuff we already have in the living room (ie, one of our laptops is going to be ruined any day now...) so adding a Christmas Tree just doesn't make sense right now. Who knew she could reach the top of the file cabinet too?!

I love your nativity and your "house tree!" I have all my Christmas stuff out and we LOVE it! I told my hubby the other night that if I didn't love our big comfy bed so much...I would just camp out under the Christmas tree and sleep there under the lights!

What a great deal on such a pretty nativity! I am hoping to start decorating this weekend, though I probably won't put out as much as I normally do. Everything is stored upstairs in the attic and thats a few too many trips for my liking!

I love your nativity scene. I think that it is so neat that you and your husband have the tradition of decorating your house tree.

I'm not doing as much decorating this year as usual, but I hope to have it all done soon!
